REVIEW

The Cathedral of Puebla is one of the most beautiful religious precincts in Mexico and with its 70 meters high, from the base to the pinnacle of the tower, the highest in America. Located in the central square of the city of Puebla, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception of Puebla began to be built in November 1575 by orders of King Felipe II of Spain and was sanctified by Bishop Juan de Palafox y Mendoza in 1649

The cathedral is of blacksmith style, with Renaissance facades and Baroque interiors. Today, it is considered one of the most beautiful in the world for the many treasures of its interior, as well as a real architectural jewel. Its two towers, flanking the Door of Forgiveness, are among the highest in the country. In its interior we can highlight the Altar of the Kings, the sumptuous Baldaquino or Cypress, the altar of the Forgiveness and choir of magnificent chairs, the three organs, the paintings of Miguel Cabrera in the Viacrucis, the Chapel of the Holy Spirit and the Sacristy, where they guard authentic treasures of religious art. The Archive, of great historical importance, is kept in the Town Hall of the Cathedral.
