It was founded in 1987 by the collector don Eulalio Ferrer Rodríguez. In its collection there are more than 1200 parts related to the masterpiece by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Don Quixote de la Mancha, made by important artists and Mexicans and foreigner writers. This museum custodies an important collection of paintings, engravings, drawings, tapestries, coins, sculptures, porcelains, ceramics of different periods and countries, inspired by the knight of the sad figure and his inseparable squire, Sancho Panza. It stands out paintings, sculptures and engravings by Raul Anguiano, Gabriel Flores, Pablo Solon Asedano, Pedro Coronel, Carlos Merida, Jose Guadalupe Posada, Salvador Dali, Alberto Gironella, Alfredo Zalce, Jose Chavez Morado, Francisco Corzas and Peter Sobrado, as well as canvases by writers such as Jose Hierro, Ernesto Sabato and Fernando del Paso.
