Unlike other sculptures that integrate the Friendship Route, the Tower of the Winds is a habitable sculpture that includes the idea of the active viewer in terms of the recreation of movement within space. Inside it, is a space of 80 square meters with minimalist aesthetics and occupied by geometric elements that make reference to the furniture inside a home.
Outside, many objects take us back to those years of Fonseca's archeology, even the Tower itself has the shape of a grain silo with a height of 13 m. built of concrete with a soul of tubular posts its average of life is about thousands of years through the strength of its construction. This sculpture was restored with the support of FONCA in 1996 and since then it has served as an experimental lab of contemporary art. Currently the Tower of the Winds is the heart of the cultural program of the Friendship Route.
