REVIEW

Guachimontones is characterized for its peculiar architectonic style of conic stepped bases and circular courtyards, with a ballgame court and several terraces, and buildings as well. The architectonic pattern of the main complex comprises a central pyramid, an elevated circular courtyard that surrounds the pyramid, a circular sidewalk that surrounds the courtyard, between eight and twelve rectangular-shape platforms over the sidewalk, and subterraneous funerary crypts under some of the platforms.
