Coatetelco was built on the shores of the lake of the same name. It is linked to Xochicalco, although its most significant period was towards the Late Pre-Classic. After the hegemony of Xochicalco, Coatetelco retakes its importance and becomes the most important regional center. For the Post-Classic, the link with Tula is evident due to the presence of a Chac Mool. Chronology: 500 to 1500 CE. Main chronological location: Early Post-Classic, 900 to 122 CE.
