Constitution Square, Tlaxcala

  • CATEGORY: Interest places

The main public square of Tlaxacla, the former Main Square is presently known as Constitution Square. The place has the original measurements of medieval squares. First, it was built and decorated with ash trees, and today with ample jardinières with sabino and some willow trees. Surrounding the square are the Old Royal Chapel for Indians, presently turned into the Palace of Justice, and the Hidalgo and Juárez Portals. There also was the Royal Inn, where Maximilian of Habsburg was lodged, which now is occupied by a hotel.
