REVIEW

Built on 1903 and rebuilt by José Refugio Reyes, the Museum of Aguascalientes has a Neoclassical style. The interior has two courtyards: in the first there are tritostyle columns on rectangular bases, shaved-off arches with carved keystones. The second one, the work of José Refugio Reyes Rivas, has beautiful gardens and fountains made in quarry stone in the center.

You can admire some of the most beautiful sculptures made by Jesús F. Contreras, where Malgré Tout (Nevertheless) stands out, a reproduction in plastic, whose original is in the National Art Museum in Mexico City.

Here are exhibited engravings by Francisco Díaz de León, paintings by Gabriel Fernández Ledesma, and works by Saturnino Herrán. Throughout the year there are temporary exhibitions of painting and sculpture by consecrated artists of national and international renown.
