Museum of the Conspirators

  • CATEGORY: Museums

The Government of the State of Querétaro, through the Institute for the Culture and the Arts of Querétaro (IQCA), created this museum as a space dedicated to those figures who took part in the Conspiracy of Querétaro on 1810, a conspiracy that was the direct antecedent to the burst of the Independence war. The rich experience generated by the museums dependent from IQCA made possible this ambitious project for a museum, which enhances the privileged place they have for the development of the cultural policies and their role in the educational, patrimonial, and touristic structures of the region. After the recovery and restoration of this emblematic mansion of the 19th century, a unique museographic project was developed, based on mural works of great artistic value as the almost exclusive support for the historic script, besides a spacious room for temporary exhibitions, for the presentation of relevant subjects related to the theme.
