The University Center for Economic and Administrative Sciences (CUCEA) was created on August 5th, 1994, by decree of the University General Council; it was made up from the Schools of: Accounting (established on 1908), Economy (1937), Management (1963), and Tourism (1968); and by the Centers for Research in economic Theory, of Social and Economic Research (1961), of Research in Tourism (1972), and, lastly, by the Economic and Regional Research Institute (1986).

CUCEA is part of Jalisco University Network, and its mission is to educate quality professionals in the Economic-Administrative Sciences who maintain an elevated sense of responsibility towards society, who are creative, and can solve the problems they face with a solid international vision balanced by the respect to the national values, and upholding a compromise with the local, regional, and national development of our society.
