REVIEW

This forum serves as a space for expression of popular and indigenous cultures, it exhibits gastronomy, clothing, history of peoples and customs which have been passed from generation to generation and there is also displayed the artistic activity of ethnic groups.

It is housed on the ground floor of the historical building known as the Former Palace Hotel (1923), which was also home of the Forbes family and venue for the British Consulate (1827).

The museum was created in order to recognize the creativity and cultural initiatives of popular sectors of Nayarit. The building has two temporary exhibition rooms, an on-site museum and a permanent exhibition dedicated to the five cultural groups in the state.
