REVIEW

This square is located at Manuel Acuña Street, opposite to Temple of the Cross (Templo de la Cruz), in the heart of the Historic Center of Querétaro. This zone is known as Sangremal Mountain, in this place, on July 25th, 1531, Querétaro was founded. Due to this fact, this Square was created in the 450th Anniversary, erecting statues of Don Fernando de Tapía (Conín), Don Nicolás de San Luis Montañez, Fray Jacobo Daciano and Don Juan Sánchez de Alaníz. This Square was created in 1981, but was first inaugurated where Market of the Cross (Mercado de la Cruz) is located and was known as “La Placita”. This square commemorates those who help in the formation of mythical city of Santiago de Querétaro.  We recommend you to visit this place from September 13th, to 15th, when several groups of folk dance and concheros gather year after year, and with spirituality and fervor dance in honor of  Holy Cross of Miracles (Santa Cruz de los Milagros.)
