Workers University of Mexico

  • PHONES: (55) 5702 4087, 5702 4287

The Workers University of Mexico was established on February 8th, 1936, in a ceremony where the representative of all the national unions attended.

The reason that encouraged Vicente Lombardo Toledano to create this institution was to develop the directive personnel to serve the interests of the working class; therefore, it was necessary to give them the fundamental instruments to better orient their fights, through scientific knowledge of the social and historical reality. An institution with these objectives had been, for many years, one of the greatest aspirations for the working class since the establishment of the House of the Workers of the World, on 1912.
