Diana Theater

REVIEW

Diana cinema, predecessor of the theater, was designed by the architect Julio de la Peña. The whole project included a business center and a hotel, an example of avant-garde architecture of what was previously known as Guadalajara Center, the urban core.

In 1995 the cinema closed its doors to the audience and remained so until 2001 when it was acquired by the University of Guadalajara, in order to relive the beloved space of the city, besides fulfilling the needs of cultural promotion of the region. The stands and the lobby from the original building were preserved, besides the murals by José María Servín which were recently restored by the Western School of Conservation and Restoration.

Diana Theater opened its doors on February 4th, 2005.
