REVIEW

Within Coyoacán Borough is located an old house built in the late 19th century with several historical symbols, currently it’s “Jesús Reyes Heroles Culture House”, its name honored the renowned historian and political expert of Veracruz. Located in Francisco Sosa St. #202, formerly  Real or Santa Catarina, this building is just opposite to the square of the same name, a few blocks away from the Centennial Garden.

The house was built on a property that in Náhuatl was called Izotitlán, which means between Izotes (Yuccas), wild palm with which hats are woven.

Maybe it was built to be used as a mill or as a paper factory, at that time, owned by a man named Juan Rubín de Celis.
