REVIEW

In early 20th century, it was inaugurated the Porfirio Díaz Market on the crossroad of the current Madero Avenue and Zaragoza street, which was remodeled in the 1920s, bearing the name of José María Pino Suárez Market. Between 1964 and 1982, it housed the Municipal Palace, and towards 1985 it was the Manuel R. Mora Library incorporated to the National Network of Libraries. By the 1990s, it changed again to be what today is the Villahermosa Cultural Center. Having said that, the building has felt the effects of time, that is why it went under a quite beneficial remodeling acquiring an avant-garde architecture for the new millennium, being reinaugurated on November 29, 2000, with the Rodin collection of the Soumaya Museum from Mexico City.
