New Fire Museum

  • CATEGORY: Museums
  • PHONES: 5686 9443

Museum founded at the beginning of 1998. It acquires its name precisely because at the top of the hill, the inhabitants, according to their religious-mystic beliefs prevailing before the arrival of the Spanish, carried out the new fire ceremony every 52 years.

Here are displayed more than 500 archaeological pieces, including arrowheads, scrapers and ceramic figures. In the main hall, the visitor can learn details of the daily life of the pre-Hispanic and colonial times, and see copies of the codices that refer to the new fire ceremony.
