Its purpose is to honor the memory and promote the work of the most known Mexican landscapist of the 19th century, José María Velasco. Located in a construction from late 19th century, it opens its doors at the end of 1992 and preserves nearly 40 pieces of this great Mexican artist, it has academic drawings, oil paintings, and also works from other landscapists of the same period such as Clausell, Pingret, Gedovius, Coto and important contemporary painters like Pelegrín, Petronila Monroy and Saturnino Hernán.
