Regional Museum of Queretaro

The Regional Museum of Queretaro is located in an area of the ancient Great Convent of San Francisco of Queretaro. When the museum was fixed in this building, its historic and artistic collection was enriched with the walls, even. It occupies the main patio that consists of two cloisters on the ground and first floors, the orange trees patio, the novices and the service patios. It has a public entrance and another for personnel. The construction of the building dates back to the XVI century, and it had a notorious expansion at the beginning of the XVIII century. Its current façade corresponds to an alteration made in 1879, when the part of a section was demolished and an adjacent chapel was eliminated. Since 1998, its museologic thematic was restructured by working on topics of concrete contents founded on solid, ample and developed historical studies.
