A veritable material achievement of the Manifest for the Emotional Architecture of its creator, Mathias Goeritz, El Eco Experimental Museum, represents, since its opening, one of the paradigmatic spaces of the 20th century architecture in Mexico.

This museum was conceived during the early years of the 1950s as a precinct where different expressions of art should converge, such as painting, sculpture, architecture, and dance, in the creation of a space for the stimulus of creativity and the encouragement of the artistic dialogue.

This idea by Goeritz found fertile ground in Daniel Mont, a renowned art dealer who, with the aid of the tycoon Gabriel Orendáin, offered the artist a plot in the San Rafael neighborhood and the necessary economic resources. In this way, on 1952, the construction of this space began, a true void that radically broke with the Functionalist postulates that the architecture followed until that time, to now to prioritize the psychic emotion and the aesthetic expression.
