REVIEW

The Bastion of Santiago Museum was inaugurated in May 1991. Housed in a historical monument of the 18th century, this is the last military construction standing in the old defensive wall of the port of Veracruz.

It is the only surviving bastion of the nine that protected the port from the pirate attacks during the 16th to 19th centuries. There, the visitor can admire the invaluable parts that make up the treasure known as The Jewels of the Fisherman.
