Museum of Mayan Culture

REVIEW

The building that houses the museum was used by the Comisión Federal de Electricidad in Chetumal. It opened on September 14, 1994 with a script created by the architect Jorge Agostoni of Compañia Museografica, S. C.

It is considered one of the most complete museums dedicated to the Mayan culture. It has an important collection of original works, as well as reproductions of classic pieces.

In its 8 halls the museum tells the development of the Mayan Culture, its origins, way of life, agriculture, commerce, science, technology and world vision.
