This documentary, directed by Jorge Prior, shows an intimate approach to the work of the Mexican illustrator Julio Ruelas, who was one of the most outstanding artists during Mexican modernism and who somehow shaped several aspects of that time in his artistic work.

The mythological creatures, death, love and portraits were the aspects Ruelas liked the most, and throughout the film is shown the satirical, decadent and nostalgic way with which he managed to shape his tastes.

It also tells of his immersion as an illustrator of the Revista Moderna, where he could express himself with greater freedom and that served as a refuge, and in this way is explained one of his most representative paintings La llegada de Jesús Luján a la Revista Moderna, in which he represented each one of the collaborators of the magazine, José Juan Tablada, Jesús Contreras, Bernardo Couto, Efrén Rebolledo, Leandro Izaguirre and Jesús Urueta, among others.
