The Decauville Portable Railroads

The exhibition is possible thanks to the generous donation made by the Barbosa family, through the mother Mrs. Bertha Naveda Reza, made up by a set of unique pieces, among which are a Lima Loco & Match Co. steam machine, crafted on 1895, and an open passenger cart, built around 1930.

The exhibition aims to acknowledge the value of the pieces created with Deauville technology, whose first models came to Mexico 140 years ago, and were used in farming and mining haciendas as part of the modernization to facilitate the transportation of their production towards the national railroad network.
