Fall in love with this story performed by the Metropolitan Ballet (B. MET), a dance company that integrates the talent and enthusiasm of Mexican youths in a never-seen-before approach where the expressive qualities of contemporary dance and ballet, converge.

The children’s tale The Sleeping Beauty was originally written by Charles Perrault, but the most famous version it is known today is that by the Grimm brothers. And now you can enjoy this magical story in ballet.

The story is set in the party for the birth of princess Aurora, to which were invited the fairies of the kingdom to offer her gifts, except for one who, as revenge for not being invited, appears to curse the princess, so in the day she turns fifteen years old, she will die after pinching her finger on a spindle of a spinning wheel. But one fairy was missing from giving her gift and changes the spell so instead of dying she would fall asleep for 100 years. Despite the effort of the kings to eliminate all the spinning wheels of the kingdom, the curse its fulfilled and at 15 years, the princess prickled her finger and falls asleep. The palace was hidden by hawthorns until, after 100 years, a prince could get there and after meeting the princess, wakes her up from her lethargic sleep with a kiss of true love.
