Since its creation on 2001, the Children’s Symphony Orchestra of Mexico (OSIM) has consolidated as a nursery of young talents. Each year, the National System of Music Encouragement launches a call to select over 100 instrumentalists under 17 years of age so they can attend a camp of study where besides working with professors specialized in each one of the symphony’s instruments, with the objective of perfecting their technique and music interpretation, they perform ludic activities and of integration in order to encourage their integral development.

Until Summer 2018, the OSIM has made 30 tours (27 national and 3 international), adding up to 214 concerts to 270 thousand spectators, made in the most important forums of the country and abroad, such as the Palace of Fine Arts, Nezahualcóyotl Hall, Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas, and the National Auditorium of Mexico City.

On 2019, it brings together over 130 instrumentalists from different corners of the country and will perform, from July 30th to August 2nd, in four cities of the southeast of Mexico, such as: Mérida, Yucatán, Campeche, Campeche; Villahermosa, Tabasco, and Xalapa, Veracruz, then to close with two concerts in Mexico City, on Saturday 3rd, in Los Pinos Cultural Complex, and on Sunday 4th in the Palace of Fine Arts.
