Colonia Dignidad (Dignity Colony) was a German settlement in Chile founded by a Nazi ex-military man, which became famous for being a detention and torture center in times of Pinochet’s dictatorship. The artists Joaquín Cociña and Cristóbal León were inspired by this fact to create a glance at the horrors of this place from the stop motion animation. The film follows María, a youth who seeks refuge in a house after escaping from a religious sect. As if she was in a dream, the house reacts to her feelings and turns her stay into a nightmare. Told in the form of a macabre fairytale, The Wolf House establishes a dialogue between cinema and the visual arts full of political resonances.
