Gaumont is an enterprise that was born at the same time that the cinema, because on 1895 the French Leon Gaumont began to manage the Comptoir general de la photographie, a company that sold optic ad photo materials. Passionate for the machines invented by Tomas Alva Edison and the Lumière brothers, Leon Gaumont decides to produce cinema projectors.

It was the origin of a cinematographic empire that would touch all the trades in cinema: the production of films and projectors, distributor, and owner of cinema theatres, distributor of international rights.

This will be a very passionate journey to the history of French cinema that emerges throughout the visited works and years. Will you join us? It will be from June 17th to 29th, 2019.
