Chucho Valdés, son of the great Ramón "Bebo" Valdés, took 47 years to give continuity to that first Jazz Batá of 1972, which represented his search for the roots of Afro-Cuban music. The batá drum is a percussion instrument of the Yoruba culture, an ethnic group from East Africa that owns an advanced tradition in percussion instruments.

Chucho Valdés has nine Grammy awards; in 2018, the Latin Academy of Arts and Recording Sciences granted him an award for his professional career. He was also inducted into the Hall of Fame of Latin composers by the DC Jazz Festival. His discography is integrated by 38 solo albums, 25 albums with Irakere and 5 albums as a member of groups and orchestras.

Piano, Chucho Valdés; bajo acústico, Yelsy Heredia; batás y vocales, Dreiser Darruthy Bombale; percusión orquestal, Yaroldy Abreu Robles; artista invitada, Regina Carter en el violín.
