This exhibition analyses the work of one of the most important Mexican artists at a national and international level, whose work is characterized by the hybridization of traditions and mythologies. Through the diversity of techniques and formats, including his practice as a painter, draftsman, sculptor, and wood carver, the exhibition traces Venegas' trajectory from the influence that Buddhism has had on his work to his studies of the Mexica culture.

We will find a polychrome Buddha of more than five meters tall, which vertically crosses the Tamayo Museum, generating a visual line between two of its main rooms, as if it were to unite the earthly with the spiritual. As well as, three large diptychs: Encounter in the forest, Beheading, and Lesson, as well as the polyptych Dogmatic, which approach the passage to the spiritual and divine through wisdom, meditation, and asceticism.

Everything else is structured around a series of dualities: the earthly and the religious, the human and the deities, and the feet of the Buddha and his mind.
