Views of Death in the World

This exhibition is a journey through some funerary practices that, deeply rooted in each culture, are a testimony of beliefs and values. As old as humanity, funeral rites have found paths and solutions, sometimes unusual, for the inescapable fact of facing death.

Consisting of around 130 objects, including photographs, altars and historical pieces mostly belonging to the museum’s collection, the exhibition brings visitors closer to the perception of death in the countries of Egypt, Mali (Africa); China, Korea and Japan (Asia), Papua New Guinea (Oceania); Mexico, Peru and Haiti (America).
