Jkuaa Kixí Ku Xítu Nijñaa. Realities and Dreams

The dreams of the Mazatec artist Filogonio Velasco Naxín have allowed him to transform his reality. Dreaming awake has shaped his strokes, bringing together the nahuales and fantastic beings that inhabit his Mazatec worldview, which he deforms and presents, through a very colorful palette of colors.

The exhibition brings together 46 works in the monotype technique -a single printing print- in which Filogonio fuses his Mazateco imaginary with the modernity that lives in Mexico City. He characterizes his work as "Mazatec surrealism"; his work takes up the worldview of his people and his language in a contemporary art style.
