Miguel Cabrera Corridor

This space presents an extraordinary collection of oil paintings on the life of St. Ignatius of Loyola, in a round arch format by the authorship of the New Spanish painter, Miguel Cabrera, favorite artist of the Society of Jesus in the New Spain in the mid-18th century.

The set of canvases highlights the importance that the Jesuits had in the formation of the Creole elites of the New Spain and Querétaro. They impacted in the formation of an identity and a mind of the creoles themselves, laying the foundations for the construction of an idea of American homeland.
