Discover the Exhibition Room of History at MRCh

Here is presented the history of the state since the arrival of the Spaniards on 1524, the start of the colonization of Chiapas, to the early 20th century, going through the time of Colony, the incorporation of Chiapas to Independent Mexico, and the local events related to the Revolution.

In this room are exhibited weapons, objects used in convents, documents of the political life of the state, paintings, furniture, and everyday use objects that represent the different historic stages of Chiapas. It also presents replicas of architectonic details, of religious works such as the polychrome arch of the Church of the Mercy of San Cristóbal de las Casas, and the adorns of the former convent of Santo Domingo of Chiapa de Corzo.
