Border Customs as Protagonist and Witness

The exhibition tells through the artifice of representation about the importance of Ciudad Juárez in the Mexican Revolution. Its origin dates back to 1886, when the Mexican government decided to construct a new building for the border customs due to the fact that the Mexican Central Railway had increased trade between Mexico and the United States. A year later, in 1887, the contract for its construction was signed. The original project included in addition to the customs office, the Federal Office of Finance and Post Office of Paso del Norte. Thus, the new border customs office was opened in September 1889.
