Triumph of Madero´s Movement

This exhibition places us two years before the beginning of the Revolution, Francisco I. Madero wrote the book of the presidential succession and demanded the effective suffrage, no re-election. The massive diffusion marked the beginning of the fall of Porfirio Díaz’s regime. After founding the anti-reelection center, Madero carried out tours and conventions in different parts of the country, and given the fact that his popularity was on the rise and seemed irrepressible, Díaz’s government looked for an excuse to arrest him. Accused of insulting the presidential figure, he was arrested in Monterrey and transferred to the prison in San Luis Potosí, where he allegedly committed the crime. This hall exhibits Porfirio Díaz’s attempt to stop the inevitable fall of his government, as well as important evets that lead to the triumph of Madero’s movement.
