One of the most important buildings of what was the Tenochca ceremonial center has survived the passing of half millennium, in a unique preservation state that pedestrians in the Historical Downtown Mexico City can verify from now by looking at a couple of archaeological windows installed on República de Argentina Street, between Justo Sierra and San Ildefonso, thanks to the effort made by specialists of the National Institute of Anthropology and History.

The dimensions of the great base that now is exposed to the public, leaves no room for doubt about its relevance, since its measures are 40 meters north to south. Its main front to the west side crosses the street and goes partially under the adjacent buildings, so there is no certainty about the east-west width, although it is supposed it must have the same measures on the four sides.
