Church of the Immaculate Conception

If you are in Álamos, Sonora, don’t forget to visit the Church of the Immaculate Conception, built on the second half of the 18th century, to be used as the seat of the first bishopric in Sonora. Its architecture is a beautiful example of the 18th century Baroque style; it has three main naves and its interior maintains fine furniture of great quality. Its architects were Juan Ross, from Querétaro, and Camilo de San Martín, from Durango, who planned it to be of stone and quarry stone. Presently, it is the emblem of Baroque style built on the north of Mexico.
