Visit the Sign Language Room at the Vasconcelos Library!

The National Council for Culture and Arts in its bet for social inclusion, and in recognition of the Mexican Sing Language (LSM, for its initials in Spanish) as one of the Mexican national languages opens, together with Seña y Verbo. Educación y Desarrollo, a space that makes easy the access to the deaf community the library services that contribute to respond to the educational, cultural, information and recreational needs.

The new Sign Language Room, addressed to the deaf community, but also to their families and every person interested, has a collection related to culture of people lacking the listening capacity and the national and international sigh language, as well as different library services like reading in Mexican sign language for those who request it, the search and recovery of information; a selection of electronic resources, etcetera. Every week there is an offer of activities from storytelling in LSM, lectures, workshops, theater and cinema, among others.
