A Tour Across the National Museum of the Tequila

It is located in the downtown of the city of Tequila, whose name comes from the word: Tequillan, which means: Place where it is cut. Its main objective is to make known the history and uses of the maguey in Mexico, from Pre-Hispanic times to the present.

It has five permanent exhibition rooms which keep replicas of archeological pieces, a house made with agave leaves, information about the goddess of maguey and of pulque (Mayahuel), tools for the cultivation and harvest of agave, photographs of the agave fields and of the Sauza family, postal stamps, bottles, and coins of the Camichines hacienda, paintings, and documents related to the process of making tequila.
