National Institute of Historical Studies on the Revolutions of Mexico (INHERM)


The National Institute of Historical Studies on the Revolutions of Mexico (INHERM) –established in 1953–, has the mission of contributing to the research, study, and promotion of the great political, economic, social, and cultural transformations generated by the great social movements that have defined our country, in particular: the Independence War, the Liberal Reform, and the Mexican revolution, as well as the commemoration of the Centennial of the Political Constitution of 1917.

As a part of its annual program, INEHRM organizes academic activities and of promotion through courses, forums, lectures, exhibitions, book launches, film club, guided tours, and activities for the children. Also, it publishes books about Mexico’s modern and contemporary history, encourages the acknowledgment of renowned historians, of young academicians, and the training of new professionals through annual calls for awards and economic incentives, INEHRM offers services of historical consultancy, owns a photographic collection, and a specialized library open to the public for inquiries.
