Fort of Guadalupe Museum

It was a Spanish chapel from the early colonial times. The fort was used as a wall by the Royalist army during the Independence War, and later by the Federal army in the Battle of Puebla.

Themes addressed in the Historic Monument Fort of Guadalupe

The history of the Historic Monument Fort of Guadalupe in its different stages:

  1. Chapel of Saint Christopher in the 16th century.
  2. A church in honor of Our Lady of Bethlehem, during a part of the 17th and 18th centuries.
  3. In late 18th century it changed its dedication, and on 1816 a new church with the base of a basilica is inaugurated, in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
  4. In the Battle of May 5th, 1862, antecedents, the Empire, and the reestablishment of the Republic.
