Embrace of the Serpent

Karamakate, a powerful shaman of the Amazon and the last survivor of his people now lives in voluntary isolation in the deepest of the jungle. Years of solitude have made him a chullachaqui, a hollow shell of a man, deprived of his emotions and memories. His empty life takes a turn on the day when Evan arrives to his remote home, an American ethnobotanist looking for the Yakruna, a powerful plant able to teach how to dream. Karamakate agrees to join Evan in his search, and together they go in a journey where the past, present, and future are mixed up and where the shaman will recover his lost memories.
