Daniel Blake, a 60-year old carpenter is forced to go to social services to ask for aid after he has had heart problems. Despite the doctor has forbidden him to work, the management forces him to find a job or otherwise he will be sanctioned. Together with a single mother with two children, Daniel will try to overcome the situation by facing the bureaucratic demands which will become a source for conflict on both sides. In this film, the veteran filmmaker Ken Loach designs a mordacious criticism towards the British government that follows the vein of his film work: a political, humanistic, and anti-establishment cinema with its focus on the working class.
