This theater was inaugurated on February 2000, it is named after the singer-songwriter, María Joaqina de la Portilla Torres, María Greves, who was born in León on August 16, 1894.

Since its opening, “the Grever” has been a space dedicated to promote local artists. It is practical, functional and equipped for presentations of different artistic and cultural disciplines. It has two halls that serve as galleries. It is the official venue for the Cervantino International Festival and other ICL activities.
