REVIEW

The temporality of Tenam Puente transcends the collapse of most Mayan cities in the lowlands. This city maintained commercial relations with neighboring areas of the Gulf coast, highlands of Guatemala and the Central Depression of Chiapas.

¿CÓMO LLEGAR?

To reach the site from Comitán, drive through the Pan-American Federal Highway 190 towards Cuauhtémoc City, travelling 8 km [5 miles] approximately, then you’ll find the detour to Francisco Sarabia Ejido (2 km [one mile]), to the southwest of the community lies the central zone of the pre-Hispanic settlement, on the road that leads to Baños de Santa Rita Uninajab. You can use public transport to arrive to the site, taking a van at Comitán town to Francisco Sarabia Ejido. Visitors can ask for help to carriers so they can take them the entrance of the archaeological site. They can even ask them to take them back.
