The settlements in Mexico and Xochimilco are eloquent tests of the creative spirit and of man’s effort, to form a habitat starting from islands won to an extensive lake.

The historic centre of Mexico City conserves outstanding testimonies of its historical stages, highlighting a great number of civil and religious constructions with particular stylistic characteristic that range from Gothic reminiscences to art deco, and certainly baroque and neoclassical examples of great quality. Xochimilco, located 282 kilometers to the south, still has a net of channels and islands that remind the old Mexico-Tenochtitlán.
