CEART. Santa Rosa de Viterbo’s Old School

REVIEW

Santa Rosa de Viterbo temple and ex convent are an extraordinary example of Mexican baroque and one of the most representatives of our State, because of its architecture and the complex altarpieces’ work. The ex convent, has been part of a long and detailed restoration process , now is the Head Office for the Institute of Culture and Arts of Queretaro and since months ago the public is served there by the General Management, the Direction of Cultural Difussion and Heritage, the Direction of Artistic Education and Cultural Services, the Administrative Support Unit and the Social Communication Area. The temple is known because of its two inversed buttresses, by Architect Francisco Martínez from Queretaro, placed at the main entrance right side, and because of the inside portraits, especially Sister Ann Marie’s one.
