Church of Saint Francis

REVIEW

The atrium is an ample walled space with a wall made in flagstone, with small stone niches framing the stages of the cross; among the ash trees and cedars, there are still olive trees planted by the Franciscans. A stone paved road leads to the stepped square facing the church, located next to the cloister and on the opposite side of the ruins of the façade of the Chapel of the Third Order. In the north area there is the Church of Our Lady of Solitude. In this way it is composed the most majestic open space in the entire region. In its center, the atrium’s cross, dated from 1764, is decorated with the symbols of the Passion.
