Palace of the Old School of Medicine

REVIEW

The Medical School has regained his old House space, now turned into the "Palace of the School of Medicine", rebuilt in 1980 with care, but above all, with love. It has been subject of constant care, additions and improvement of usable areas. The Palace of the Old School of Medicine is a majestic building of the Mexican Baroque, located in the historic downtown of Mexico City at the Plaza de Santo Domingo. The building was built in 1732 by architect Pedro de Arrieta and since then it has been housed various institutions. Currently, houses the Department of History and Philosophy of Medicine, the Archives of the School, the Historical – Medical Library Dr. Nicolas Leon, Mexican Museum of Medicine and the Administrative Unit.
