Elena Garro Cultural Center

REVIEW

This center pays respect to one of the most important women in Mexican letters in the 20th century. The original structure was respected in the architectonic intervention carried out by Fernanda Canales González and Saidee Springall who integrated the natural surrounding to give it a new function to the areas. As a symbol of the downtown architectonic conception that mixes nature and urban landscape was installed the art work by Paloma Torres called El bosque transformado (The Transformed Wood) that is the design of the bronze side doors of the precinct.

This facility has a built area of 1771 sq meters and is in register with the 21st Mexican Century Cultural Project that Conaculta carries out and whose lines are the preservation of cultural heritage, bring culture closer to a bigger number of persons and strengthen Mexico as a Spanish intellectual platform.
